Is the import and export Outlook option suitable for migrating Outlook?

Migrating your Microsoft Outlook files and folders can seem like a very tricky concept. However, Outlook briefly addressed the task and created both import and export tools for the software. To the everyday user, this seems like a wonderful new addition. It seems as if you can now be completely worry free when you need to transfer your files. Unfortunately, in actuality, you need to be very careful. If you were to do some research into the pro’s and con’s of using their own migration tools, you would quickly discover that the there are some serious negative attributes that outweigh the positives.

Just by digging a little deeper into what the software has to offer we were able to find that Outlook’s import and export options do not allow you to transfer anything more than your pst file. This is usually for when you need to move your Outlook files from an older and outdated version of Outlook to a new updated version. This puts serious limitations on your capabilities and the drawbacks are significant. If you had important files saved in your signatures, templates, stationary or any other location then the odds that those files will be backed up are very unlikely. Just migrating the pst file is simply not enough.

Once you’ve realized that Outlook import and export is not a viable option then you need to turn to what your secondary, more satisfying options might be. For me, as well as many others this secondary option relies within REMO software. REMO has amazing capabilities that can easily perform Outlook migration and many other functions like Mac recovery and tools to recover Mac files.
